Analytics and Orders
What each figure counts, and how to see what Ovation did on one order.
Analytics
Analytics has four tabs under its title: At a glance, By offer, Store orders and A/B tests. The date button under the tabs covers the last 7, 30 or 90 days, or a range of up to 365 days picked on its calendar, and the button beside it chooses what the figures are compared with. On At a glance, the post-purchase figures are compared with the period before, with the same days a year earlier, or with a period starting on a date you pick. The Thank you and Order status figures, and the By offer and Store orders tabs, have no comparison. Export, among the page’s actions beside its title, downloads the figures as a CSV file.
What each figure counts
- Offers shown: post-purchase pages where Ovation had an offer to show. It is not a count of your orders: a checkout that never reaches that page is never counted. It is also the number your plan counts, except that your plan counts your own test orders too.
- Accepted: offers a customer took on the post-purchase page, paid or free. One page can accept more than one.
- Conversion: the share of pages shown where the customer took something. Its change is in percentage points: 8% to 10% is up 2 points.
- Added to orders: what the accepted offers were worth, leaving out the ones Shopify refused, for example when a card was declined or the variant sold out in between. An offer Shopify added to the order whose extra charge did not go through is left out too, and shown under the figure as added, not charged, only when there is one.
- Per page shown and Per accepted offer divide that money by the pages shown and by the accepted offers whose money is in it.
Refunds and cancellations are counted beside Added to orders rather than taken out of it. When an order is refunded or cancelled, Shopify tells Ovation, and the page shows both what was added and what came back.
What is left out
- Your own test orders, on every tab, A/B tests included. Ovation checks which orders were tests over the whole period you look at, and for A/B tests since the earliest running test started. On a store that has not yet approved access to all its orders, which Shopify asks the next time you open Ovation, it checks the last 60 days only, so a test order older than that can still count, and the page says when that may be the case.
- Pages the free plan’s cap held back. They were never shown, so they are not counted, here or toward your plan. The page lists how many there were.
The Thank you and Order status pages
A card of their own: how many orders were offered something on each page, how many customers clicked the button, how many orders that button placed and what they sold. Each order is counted once, not once per view, so a customer reopening their order status page does not move them. The button starts a new checkout, and its link notes on the order it creates which offer it came from, so that order counts as sold once the customer has paid for it. What it sold is the offered product’s line at the price charged after its discounts, before delivery and refunds, and a refund of that order is shown beside it. Tax is in it only where your prices include tax. None of this counts toward your plan.
The other tabs
- By offer: each offer’s share of the pages, and Top products, one row for each product at each position in an offer, with how many customers took it.
- Store orders: which of your own orders could reach the post-purchase page, why the rest could not, and what share of your store’s orders and sales Ovation had a hand in: the offers accepted on the post-purchase page, and on a row of their own, the orders the Thank you and Order status button placed. On a store that has not yet approved access to all its orders, Ovation reads your orders for this tab over the last 60 days, so for a longer period this tab shows no share rather than one worked out from part of it; once it has, every period shows its share. The number that could reach the page is an upper limit, because some of the reasons Shopify skips an order, such as local delivery, cannot be read from it.
- A/B tests: every test, running or ended. See A/B tests.
Orders
Orders lists your store’s orders from the last 60 days, a page at a time, each with what Ovation did on it, in plain words. The tabs show one result at a time: All, Offer shown, Added, Nothing added, Blocks, No offer and Shopify skipped it. Blocks holds the orders a block on your Thank you or Order status page showed an offer on, and Shopify skipped it the orders Shopify would not show a post-purchase page for and no block acted on. Nothing added holds the orders an offer was shown on and nothing was added to: one whose customer clicked the decline button reads No thanks (recorded since 19 September 2026), and one whose customer left without answering reads Nothing clicked. To find one order, type its number, its confirmation number or the address of its page in your admin into Find an order.
Opening an order shows:
- what happened on its post-purchase page, and on the Thank you and Order status pages, told in order from the moment the order was placed, with what Ovation added to its total under What it was worth;
- How Ovation decided: the questions Ovation asked, in the order it asked them, such as which offers were considered, which trigger missed, and whether a date, an order-value bound or the plan cap held an offer back;
- Try a different order: change the products, the total or the date to see what your offers would do with a different order.
The replay uses your offers as they are now. If you edited an offer after the order, it shows what would happen today; what was recorded at the time is shown apart from it.
Ovation records a click on the decline button only from 19 September 2026 on, so on an older order a customer who declined and one who closed the page both read No answer recorded, on the Nothing added tab. Any order can be found by its number, however old.
